What are you looking forward to most about the summer?

7th Inning Stretch – Todd Wike, CFP®, Managing Partner, Potomac Financial Group

“If we’ve spoken recently, I’ve probably mentioned how travel baseball has taken over our lives for the better part of the last 4 months.  It’s been a new challenge for us this year with both Charlie and Graham now playing on their respective teams, but we’ve had so much fun supporting them and cheering on their teams.  Our final tournament of this spring season is a week-long tournament in Myrtle Beach at the end of June and the whole family will be able to go.  I know we may find ourselves missing baseball once we get into July, but I also know I am looking forward to a few free weekends with no schedules or agendas to catch-up on some projects at home and perhaps enjoy some time at the beach.”

Here Comes the Bride! – Sara Aulebach, Office Manager & Marketing Coordinator

“I am looking forward to all the wedding festivities leading up to my wedding, such as my bachelorette getaway in OBX, my bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and of course the BIG day which will take place in Annapolis, MD. With that being said, I am MOST looking forward to our honeymoon at a brand-new Sandals resort in Curaçao! Curaçao is part of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao). Aruba was absolutely breathtaking when I went there with my mom in 2019 for her 50th birthday, so I know that the neighboring island of Curacao will be just as beautiful!”

Family Reunion – Sara Lempa, Client Services Manager

“I am looking forward to our 1st in-person reunion in 3 years of the 5 sisters (me and my 4 sisters) and their families. We are all meeting in CT in July and having a weekend of pool party/music festival/singing, and of course eating. Everyone plays instruments and or sings so it should be so much fun. The 3 grandchildren (6, 5 and 3) all have their own harmonicas to add to the festivities. We are all making our favorite cookout recipes of our deceased parents to keep their spirit alive as well. It should be the best part of our week-long late July vacation.”

3 and 8- Change is in the Air – Sophia Whitney, Client Services Representative

“Our family recently moved to a new home in January! This move has come with new and exciting times for my 8-year-old (who will be turning 9 in August) and my 3-year-old. We are looking forward to exploring more of our new neighborhood, meeting neighbors, and participating in events held by our community. We are also looking forward to a potential trip to Kent Island or Rehoboth later in the summer. My son will also be attending a culinary camp for a week and a robotics camp for another week while continuing his drum lessons. My 3-year-old daughter will be spending her days with her playmates at daycare until she joins her brother at his school in late August! She is excited and we cannot wait to see how amazing she does.  That’s our SUMMER😊”

Wedding number 3 is in the works!  – Deb Kelly, CFP®, Chartered Federal Employee Benefits ConsultantSM

“My stepson, Patrick, is marrying his best friend, Erica on July 23.  We’re so excited to be celebrating their wedding with family and friends.  That’ll make it three down and three more to go.  Besides a few weekend getaways to the beach and a country concert, we’ll be finishing my summer with a COVID-postponed trip to Italy where we’ll be staying in a beautiful villa in Tuscany and then visiting relatives in Cinque Terre.”

All Aboard! – Chris Heald, Financial Planner

“Seven Mile Beach…Stingray City…Scuba diving with my daughter…Cayman Islands here we come…but before all that, I am looking forward to sailing around the Chesapeake Bay with my half share of a C&C 25! & catching Crabs!!!!!!!”

Skeet Shooting and Sunshine – Jeremy Dvorak,CFP®, CASL®

“I am mostly excited about spending more time with my family and getting lots of sunshine.  My wife, Kelly, is a teacher, and my daughter, Lilly, is in high school, so summer is the best time for us to do things together.  We belong to the local pool and will probably spend quite a few afternoons there. We also have a week at the beach in late August.  Lilly just started driving, and will start working this summer, so I’ll be battling the empty nest feeling. But it was bound to happen someday. Personally, it is the height of my competitive skeet shooting season, and there are some major tournaments on my schedule this year.  So, lots of time on the practice field for me.”
