We’ve been so excited around here celebrating the Washington Nationals winning the 2019 World Series title. Their motto for the season, “Stay in the fight,” certainly summed up the entire World Series run down to the very end. We are definitely grateful for the experience!

With Thanksgiving next week and the rest of the holidays fast approaching, I tend to start reflecting upon the year and definitely have a sense of gratitude…and not just for our Nats’ win! This time last year, I was addressing a lot of market volatility in my “From the Desk of Todd” posts and although things can change on a dime, and eventually will, it’s been a relatively “calm” year, so far. Unfortunately, market volatility is something we always have to plan for and I am very grateful that our clients entrust us with their financial planning. It’s a responsibility that we take very seriously.

As I’m consistently saying, the most important thing you can do to help protect your financial well-being is to have a plan with the appropriate asset allocation (stock and bond mix). This will help you avoid having to make difficult decisions simply because the market takes a downward turn. While a good financial plan won’t necessarily eliminate all of your worries, it goes a long way to help you sleep better at night. If we haven’t reviewed your asset allocation recently, please make an appointment and we’ll evaluate your entire financial plan using our Freedom7 process, which is never an additional charge for our current clients.

This Thanksgiving, I’ll be reflecting on all the things I am grateful for in my life, such as my health, family and friends, and I hope you can relax and do the same. From all of us at Potomac Financial Group, we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
