Each month, we will be spotlighting a member of the PFG team and we thought it would only be appropriate to start with long-time Client Services Manager, Sara Lempa. When asked why she loves working at PFG, Sara says, “It comes down to people. We have wonderful clients and I cherish the daily interactions and relationships that I’ve been able to build with them.” Our PFG team considers Sara to be quite the people person and she consistently demonstrates how much she cares about our clients by working hard to make sure things are handled properly. In addition to her passion for helping clients, she has enjoyed working with the team at PFG over the past 12 years. “We spend such a large portion of our time with the people that we work with throughout the week and we truly try to make it as much like a family atmosphere as we can,” says Sara.
Not surprisingly, Sara’s story about joining PFG has a University of Maryland football connection. Sara’s husband, Kevin, was an Assistant Football Coach and during this time became good friends with Larry Grabenstein, a big supporter of Maryland football and the founder of PFG. With Sara soon to be moving from Massachusetts to Maryland to be with Kevin, Larry inquired whether Sara would be interested in a position at PFG. The obvious answer was, “yes!” Larry and Sara immediately hit it off and she was offered the job on the spot! Around the same time, Pam Carrigan was getting ready for retirement after 15 years of working with Larry. Many of you will remember Pam, and if you do, you know that she was a tough act to follow. However, Sara sure proved herself to be the perfect fit for the position and quickly realized that this was just the career she was looking for to help establish her new life in Maryland.
Outside of work, Sara has a huge creative side and she loves making things! Whether its cooking family meals and desserts, framing pictures and changing artwork, making pillows and curtains, or restoring and repurposing old furniture pieces, you name it and Sara can make it! Much like her work at PFG, she loves bringing a project to completion. Nowadays, her 3-year-old granddaughter takes precedence over all and happily is her loyal partner in most of her creative ventures.
